First Week Down

Well I made it here to the mission field. I am serving in the Canby 3rd ward the Oregon City zone. My trainers name is Elder Mccoy from st george utah so he is very close to home haha but never actually met the guy. i guess there is alot of people down there. Me and him are pretty much opposite though haha but he works hard and thats good so we are trying our best to get in the groove of everything. he has been out 9 months. When i came out we had a group of 40 missionaries so that was pretty crazy they have never had a group that big before. So there are kids who are training who are only like 4 or 5 months out. But he does a pretty good job. 

 

 

So my area is definitely more country and has like alot of farm land and cows and everything horses pigs goats. Ive been trying my best to convince my trainer to go talk to some of those people but im having a hard time convincing him its a good idea he likes to stay in the more populated areas so that kinda makes things hard when theres people right next to me that i coulld connect with so well and i never get to talk to them but luckly its only the first week im sure ill get my fare share i hope. 

 

 

the people here are very terrfied of COVID like we have a bunch of members who are just not going to church and not leaving their homes because they dont want to be exposed to it. But they do watch over zoom but we would like them to come in person. It also makes it hard to convince investigators or (friends) to come to church because they just say I didnt want to get covid. it also makes it hard to find people  to teach as well. So if you all could pray for us to find some people to teach it would be very appreated. 

 

 

I really appreciated all of you that emailed me last week that was really nice to hear from you thank you. And like i said last week i wont be upset if you email me an update or anything its good to hear from you all.   cooper.esplin@misionary.org

 

 

I would just like to say that gods love is real and he will be there for you when you ask for it dont be afraid of it. I can honesly say that I personally have felt it more then ever. He will give you some little things in your life just to be like hey I love you thank you for doing this and im not sure what im saying but Gods love is real and he wont leave you comfortlless          (John 14:18)

Note from Cami….he doesn’t get eat in members homes very often due to covid and was asking for easy and simple recipes.  So if any of you have a recipe that would work for him please feel free to email it to him.  He would really appreciate it.
