Great Week To Be A Missionary

Image
Well everyone it's good to be here again writing this great article! You guys will never believe what happened this week! The sun was out and like 65° for like 4 out of the 7 days! It was so nice, broke out the short sleeves and took in all that sun! I think my friends out there in Africa might be tanner than me for once!!    But we have had some pretty cool experiences this week! To start off we had our baptisms for Oliver and Paige. Two young kids whose family is just starting to come back to church! Teaching them and being with them is just the funnest thing ever! They get distracted so easy and haha it just cracks me up! But their baptism went so well their dad was able to baptize them and they couldn't be happier with what they were doing!   Ok another quick story! I'm turning into a city boy!! I know devastating news! We did some service for a guy we are working with and well he had 2 yards of dirt and he needed it in the back yard! So with wheelbarrows we took it a...

5 Tranfers?!?!?

Well everyone another transfer has come and gone! And guess what!......I am staying here in Canby 3rd ward another transfer! It will be around 7 months in my first area haha that's a long time if you were wondering! But also I couldn't be any more excited about staying I love it here!    So we had a pretty exciting week! We were busy pretty much finding and teaching new people all week. I have never been so busy in all my mission! I'm telling you guys tracting is working no matter what anyone says, it's the way to go!    We have a baptism this Saturday! We are pretty excited about it! His name is Oliver and he is so much fun! He is a 10 year old kid and his family is starting to come back to church as well. It has just been a blessing to be able to work with them these past 6 months! PRAY FOR THE TALLYS!  And other then that there is still a lot of rain and trees up here in Oregon so you can count on that!    Sorry that was pretty scrambled, don't have...

Sunshine

Hey guys guess what! I got to see the sun for a full day this week! It felt really nice on the skin! I'm going to go from the guy who never got sun burned back home to being a red tomato. There isn't too much sun up here.    Anyway, this week has been a pretty good week! To start off with the most exciting news. We were able to put a kid on date to be baptized on March 26! It is so wonderful to be a part of his path back to our Father in Heaven! Along with him, his family has been inactive for a while so that's kind of sad but they said they want to start coming back as well! I love this family so much. I have been growing my friendship with them ever since I got here in Oregon. They are super fun! They have like 6 kids or so! It's kind of a mad house up there but it's so fun. My joy for kids is getting bigger. I mean I still don't know how to talk to babies I don't even get how people do that but anyway it's so awesome!  In other news, we were able to f...

Stickers

Well hello friends and family how the heck are ya?  We have had a pretty good week over here in Canby Oregon. You know how it goes, a lot of rain, some more rain, and little more rain. So that's been pretty good.    But anyway, to the reason why you are here! The mission is doing a big push on doing mission ads! So basically, we put an ad out for like a free Jesus picture or book of mormon, or Bible. The big popular one is Jesus stickers! The city of Portland loves those! So when someone clicks on one of those they put in all their information and well guess what missionaries magically show up to their house to give it to them! And it actually works pretty well! The other day we got a total of 400 referrals as a mission! It was so awesome!  So me and Shaw only got one of those 400! I guess the people out here in the country don't like them! But we sure made the best of it! When we went over, we kind of just went for it and started talking about baptism with her and w...

Miracles

Image
Well this week has been amazing full of ups and downs as missionary work goes! We found like 2 new people to teach this week! I know you guys over there in Africa probably don't think that's all that impressive but let me just say 2 Is pretty good over here in Oregon lol!     So actually, yesterday we had a pretty cool miracle! After district council we had our scheduled planned out for us to be on the other side of our area so we just couldn't do that! So we were like ok will make it work! But the first house we went had a sign on the door saying. "NO MORMONS" haha it killed me I will send the pictures I was laughing so hard! Anyway after lots of nobody wanting to talk to us we were like we should say a prayer! After that we were like ok we should knock some doors! And well, only after the 3rd house we talked to a lady named Becky. We asked her if she would like a message about Christ and peace she said she would, but her husband probably won't lol! So we wil...
