Normal Week

Image
Hi everyone hope you're all doing well. I made it another week, time is sure going by quick.    This week we have been working hard and been praying a lot but nothing seemed to get going for us which is to bad but we had some cool things happen.    A crazy funny story I'll share. So we were walking out of our apartment complex and there was this older lady outside sweeping her porch and as any good missionary would do we asked her if we could help her. And she said yes but not with the porch haha. She was like "Can you go get my meds from walgreens" so we were like heck we asked her if we could help we can't tell her no haha. So we said yes and we got it taken care of but let me tell ya it's pretty tricky to get meds for other people haha. But we got them back and she then proceeded to just talk for like 30 minutes about how grateful she was and wanted to pay us back. But as any good missionary would do we said we couldn't take it. But she was bound and de...

Oregon

Hey everyone I'm back another week in the books. It's been a heck of a week still getting used to the new ward and comps. I'll do my weekly weather report, which I haven't done for a while.  So as normal it rained probably every day this week. It is still pretty cold this week. At some point this week we were out in the furthest part of our area and it started to snow and it was really going for it and sticking which was pretty cool. Then boom it just started to rain like crazy and melted all the snow away haha. Ok honestly nothing all that exciting has happened. We shared a lot of lessons with members, shared a good amount with non members, just working hard and praying more.  Ok I'll give one more story.    So we got invited to this dinner by the relief society so we were like heck ya sounds fun. So we show up and we find out that it was a Farmington leadership dinner. And let me tell ya it was the fanciest church dinner I've ever seen. They had like the light...

Farmington

Well everyone I made it to my new area and it’s been an adventure getting everything figured out and getting adjusted to all the new people. Leaving Estacada was like leaving home the 3rd time haha. After staying in Canby for 9 months and Estacada for 7, I pretty much just adjust to my new home. So it’s always hard to leave all the friends I made over there.    Farmington is another rural area. We still cover a lot of country. But we also cover like 2 sections of Cedar hills and Hillsboro so that's where most of our people hang out.  Just in my first 2 days I think we ended up having lessons with 5 atheists who just don't want to believe in God but for some reason they love reading the Book of Mormon so I'm still trying to figure out these city folks they do stuff a little goofy up here.    My new companions are both pretty new. Elder Riggs is on his 4th transfer and Elder McGary is on his 3rd so he is just getting out of training. So now I just feel like an old...

Goodbye Estacada

Well hello everyone how are things going? I have had a really good week. Me and Elder Crum were having a lot of fun. But guess what that means...I'm getting transferred to Farmington, which is kinda in the Beaverton area. So I'm getting closer to the big city! From what I hear it's still one of the most Rural areas in the mission. I'm pretty excited for a new adventure. But I am so sad to say goodbye to everyone here in Estacada so many fun people I'm going to miss them so much!    This week we got a referral for a guy named Michael and we set a lesson up with him at the church, we had Brother Tolman there (Ward Mission leader) and we had a great lesson he said he was just praying to God for a direction to go and boom we showed up! It's literally a miracle, and as we were walking out he asked "so what does it take to get baptized around here" haha you've got to he kidding me that never happens. So we are excited for him.    Well God is good, He is ...

New Year

Hey everyone Happy Happy New Year. Hope everyone had a great time! My new year night was pretty awesome. We got together with our district and had a zoom call with our whole mission for like an hour and a half. Then we went to a restaurant together. It was called the Tolgate.  It was actually pretty dang good. I got some chicken wings so I was happy! Then we had to be in our apartment by 8:00pm. Since me and Elder Crum live alone we just had to make due with what we have. From playing indoor corn hole, or sticky darts, to indoor ping pong haha then we went to bed at 10:30 it was sweet!    Well this week has definitely had its up and downs but we truly have been blessed! So we found a new person! Wahoooo. His name is Ed. And Ed has a cool back story. So flashback to a couple weeks ago. We were driving around about 8:50 not sure what we should be doing. Then boom I see the most lit up house ever and I'm like well we should knock on that house. So we do and guess what h...
