Elder Clayton

Well this week has been a pretty fun busy week. We had an area 70 Elder Clayton and his wife touring our mission and giving mission conferences all week long. I loved hearing from him but I'm about tired of meetings haha, but it was great.

Ok so a funny story from this week! So Elder Clayton wanted to do apartment inspections with his time here and ours was one of the lucky ones. Well anyway we got it cleaned up and we had a morning meeting with Elder Clayton then came home, me and Elder Shaw had to do some service. We were cutting some black berries for a member and those things suck especially with my soft hands! Anyway we got done and we were covered in mud so we came home to change so we could go back to work. Anyway we go running through the door as any young missionary would haha. And BOOM there is Elder Clayton and his wife and President and Sister Haymond just chilling on our couch's. We go OHHHH hey guys how are you? They totally scared the crap out of us. So there we were just covered in mud in the work clothes and we have these 2 powerful men who have met with the 12 Apostles multiple times! Just having a normal conversation! They wanted to know all about my big belt buckle and my hats and Elder Shaw is a world champion (bull whip) cracker and they talked about that for a while. So needless to say be careful when you have apartment inspections don't get too careless. It was very funny though!

A really cool miracle we had this week was me and Elder Shaw are the only adventurous missionaries in the mission, we think, and we do tracting! So we picked this new apartment complex we have never been to and the first 3 doors we knock on want us to come back and share a message with them. We were able to share with one of them named RJ a brief Plan of Salvation with him and he loved it and he said he wants to bring his family to church so that's really exciting! God is really good to us. But we also found another person in that same complex a different day this week so we have found a good portion of new people this week! Well for at least these state side missions probably not even impressive for Elder Chamberlain and Elder Hoyt! Love those guys though! We share the same message brings everyone together as one!

But one thing I've learned from Elder Clayton this week was that Christ lives and the importance of families in this life. He just kept saying that over and over and over again! It was so cool to hear him speak by the spirit and just help us become true disciples of Jesus Christ!

I love you all, and hopefully this is long enough for my mom so she won't get to mad at me haha! (We were at the desert branding and so I told him since I wasn’t going to be able to talk to him he had to send a long email)
